Gameplay/Controls

What is worse than a zombie apocalypse? A zombie apocalypse… With dinosaurs???
The Blue Colony was a place of opportunity, a capitalist metropolis where hard work, determination and a keen eye for business could punch you a one-way ticket to the top of the illustrious Sky City. . . That was until the Virus hit. Now the elite are hunted by flesh-eating monster that were once their former workers.

I was excited to learn that there’s going to be a sequel of Red Colony which I knew the story won’t end right there and now We’re changing out focus from Maria to Nicole which our new story takes off at the sequel which right now I’m pleased to make a review of right now as we speak.

From the last time I played the prequel, it was released in the year 2020 which gave a little introduction to the events that occurred but here with the sequel, it’s a big eye opener.
From the prequel, we were focusing on the main protaganist named Maria from the Red Colony while here in the sequel, we’re focusing on another main protaganist named Nicole who’s from the Blue Colony. The red colony suffered a heavy blow from the virus outbreak which caused a zombie apolocaypse while Blue Colony is suffering worse than the Red Colony.
Before entering the game, I was briefly introduced to the events which revealed to what happened during the first game to which is the actual cause of the virus outbreak that happened in Red Colony.

The gameplay is quite similar to that of the prequel and it’s good to revisit such game in case I don’t forget such controls.
The game’s menu can be accessed through the wristwatch which also allows one to check the progress of the game, achievement hunting and also checking out the items.
There’s much to loot/collect such items such as bullets, blueprint of weapons, maps to download into the wristwatch.
The puzzle-solving aspect of the game is quite challenging but if you take a second to look around for clues and you could find answers to such clues from the walls of rooms and you could get them from the NPCs. The save points can be found in some places in the form of printers or dispensers.

The controls are simple to use and quite easy to master, such as button Y to run, button ZL to aim and button ZR to shoot or swing a baseball bat, button A to interact with people and objects. The controls are the same as before with no problem with while playing the game.

To conclude this review, the game is what I expected from the prequel with a great way to bring back that jump scare moments that they almost made me piss my pants and I love that sometimes, those jump scares are scary as heck and unexpected too. The game might be short but the horror and suspense is enough to bring you back for more, If you’ve played the previous installment then you’ll love the sequel.

Graphics

The visuals seems a bit different from the prequel which looks quite similar in nature but looks good.
No problem from the frame rate which didn’t bother me.
Character design and landscape looks good enough, so I’ll say they did a great maintaining what they had from the prequel.

Audio

The game also maintained the same audio quality of the game but with new voices than that of the prequel which I can say they did a good job bringing new people or familiar voices into the game.
Also the soundtrack from the jump scares are enough to scare me hard.

Verdict

Story – 8/10
Gameplay – 8/10
Graphics – 8/10
Audio – 8/10
Recommendation – Yes , If you’ve played the previous installment then you’ll love the sequel
Overall – 8/10

Thanks for reading my review and God bless.
I also want to thank the publishers for giving me an opportunity for making a review of their awesome game.
